Dole Whip Recipe
I love Disney copycat recipes, and nothing is more iconic than this Disney Dole Whip recipe!
The pineapple-flavored ice cream was created by Dole (the fruit company) in the 1980s.
However, it wasn’t until Disneyland and Walt Disney World started to serve the frozen treat that the Pineapple Dole Whip achieved its current cult-like fandom.

How To Make Dole Whip
You only need a few simple ingredients to make this iconic Disney treat!
- Combine frozen pineapple chunks, canned coconut milk, sugar, citrus juices, and a pinch of salt in a high-powered blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Spoon into glasses and add pineapple slices for garnish!
You can easily swap the coconut milk or regular dairy milk in this Dole Whip recipe.
And for a sugar-free Pineapple Dole Whip, swap in your preferred sweetener (like Stevia) or leave out the sugar entirely!
Tips for Making Pineapple Dole Whip
- Freeze it first! Pop the mixture in the freezer after blending for about 30 minutes, then spoon into glasses. This gives your pineapple Dole Whip a firmer texture.
- Make it extra creamy. Add one small banana to this Dole Whip recipe. It will affect the flavor, but your pineapple whip will also have a thick, creamy texture.
- Try a Dole Whip Float. Fill a glass halfway with pineapple juice, then layer some pineapple whip on top.
- Use a powerful blender. Not all blenders and food processors are created alike, and that will affect how long it takes to make this homemade Disney Dole Whip recipe.
Be sure your machine is powerful, in good working order, and has sharp blades.
Otherwise, you’ll end with up tiny chunks of fruit no matter how long you blend the mixture!
Serving Suggestions
While you are free to scoop your frozen treat right into glasses, you will need a pastry bag to get that iconic swirl.
Fit a large (16-inch) piping bag with a large, open star decorator tip. Then, rotate your wrist while you pipe the mixture into each glass.
Add a long-handled spoon and dig right in!
For a more festive look, use themed cups or add little paper umbrellas on top.
