Get ready for a rockin' celebration! KISS, the legendary band, is dropping a massive 50th-anniversary box set, and it's a doozy!
KISS, the iconic rock group, has just announced an epic box set to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their groundbreaking concert album, 'Alive!' This collection is a treasure trove for fans, offering a variety of formats, from vinyl to CD, and an incredible array of unreleased content.
The highlight is undoubtedly the super-deluxe 8-LP vinyl edition, boasting an impressive 120 tracks, with a whopping 88 of them never heard before! Priced at $400.48, it's a collector's dream. The official description on the KISS online shop reveals a meticulous remastering process, with LPs 1 and 2 featuring the original album remastered from the 1975 stereo analog master tapes. LPs 3 to 6 showcase two full concerts from the 1975 'Dressed To Kill' tour, mixed by the legendary Eddie Kramer, capturing the raw energy of KISS' performance. Bonus tracks on LPs 7 and 8 include rehearsal jams and additional songs, all mixed by Kramer, offering a unique glimpse into the band's creative process. The Blu-ray Audio disc takes it up a notch with a new mix of 'Alive!' in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround, along with remastered stereo tracks and a brand-new visualizer featuring unreleased live photos - a true audio-visual treat!
But here's where it gets even more exciting: the box set is packed with physical goodies! A 100-page book, a T-shirt, glossy photos, and a Peter Criss drumhead lithograph are just some of the items included.
Other editions cater to different preferences and budgets, including a 4-CD box set with a T-shirt for $287.55, a deluxe picture disc edition with a sweatshirt for $251.89, and a premium color vinyl version with a sweatshirt for $125.98.
And this is the part most people miss: the early pre-order bonus! All editions will begin shipping on November 21st, but fans can pre-order now and get exclusive access to full details of each version at the band's official webstore.
In a bittersweet turn of events, KISS and their fans recently mourned the loss of original guitarist Ace Frehley, who passed away last month at 74. Despite this tragedy, the band continues to make headlines, as they will be honored at the Kennedy Center next month.
