When did the LG UQ9000 come out? ›

LG UQ90 is a TV based on LCD display technology with 4K resolution and flat design. It was launched in 2022 and is available in 43", 50", 55", 65", 75", 86" sizes.

It is necessary to set the desired picture mode every time there is a change in the input mode, as the picture mode settings (brightness/quality) may differ depending on the video input (digital broadcasting, HDMI, etc.). If the power-saving mode is turned on, the screen may appear dark or blurry.

Gaming. The LG UR9000 has fair response time and best input lag, whereas the LG C3 has best response time and best input lag, making the C3 exceptional for gaming due to smoother visuals and reduced delay in registering player actions.

Although the LG UQ8000 is a lower-end version of the LG UQ9000, it's slightly better overall. The UQ8000 has better accuracy and better motion handling, but besides those differences, both TVs are very similar.

There's no direct predecessor to this model, but it's very similar to the 2021 LG UP8000 and has been succeeded by the LG UR9000 in 2023. It's pretty bare compared to LG's higher-end models, as it lacks any advanced gaming features and doesn't support Dolby Vision or HDR10+.

The LG UR8000 is better overall than the LG UQ8000. The UR8000 has a much higher contrast, so blacks are deeper and more uniform if you watch TV in a darker room.

Price and Warranty. Pricing is one place where LG clearly wins over Samsung. Although prices of low-end and mid-range models are comparable, the LG TVs generally have better features as well as sound and picture quality at their price points. In the premium range, LG devices are usually cheaper too.

Aside from their high-end OLED models, most LG TVs won't have great blacks, meaning their picture quality is limited. Uniformity issues. LG LED TVs often have issues with gray uniformity, like dirty screen effect (DSE), that can get distracting during sports. Poor value.

The LG C3 OLED and LG C2 OLED are very similar TVs, with the C3 being a marginal improvement over its predecessor. The C3 is a bit brighter, but this isn't noticeable in practice.

Is c1 better than C3? ›

Both have excellent upscaling for lower resolution content like news and talk shows, but the C3 enhances the experience with slightly better out-of-the-box colors and overall image quality, despite both having solid performance in important aspects like color gamut, local dimming, and contrast.

The C3 covers more of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3), but the difference comes down to 99% versus 97%. The C3 also gets brighter than the C2 by a hair. Side by side, the C3's added brightness is only noticeable in the form of small, intense highlights, like in the reflection of sunlight off the surface of water.

Samsung TVs usually get a fair bit brighter and have better contrast, while LG TVs generally have much wider viewing angles and better smart features. While LG has more OLEDs in its lineup, Samsung has released its own OLED TVs known as QD-OLED, which produce brighter and more vibrant colors than LG's OLEDs.

The LG C series OLED TVs have consistently served as the best LG TVs overall for the last few years, and that continues with the LG C4. Offering superb picture quality with good brightness, an excellent array of gaming features and a wide range of screen sizes, the LG C4 stands tall in the LG TV range.

While the G-series is more expensive than the C-series, there have been times in the past when the latter has sounded better than the former. 2021's C1 was a more engaging performer than the G1, for example, though 2022's G2 did sound better than the C2, with a louder, more impactful performance.

Given that the UR9000 only sports a 60Hz refresh rate, you won't be doing the most intense gaming on this display, but at least you'll be able to hit a nice 60 fps on consoles.
