You will need a tall clear container such as a water bottle with the lid removed, base, tall container, or a science beaker would be extra cool. Now gather your simple supplies:
- baby oil
- food coloring
- water
- funnel (to reduce mess)
- valentines day glitter or confetti
- several Alka Seltzer Antacid Tablet

Pour baby oil 1/3 of the way up a clear glass container. You could use a science beaker, clear glass vase, drinking cup, or anything else you have on hand. Using a fiole helps make sure you don’t get theoilysubstance on the outside of yourvalentines science experiment.
Add water the rest of the way up, leaving several inches open at the top.

Now pour in about 1 tablespoon of Valentines day themed glitter or confetti – whatever kind moves your child and you can find easily. Squeeze seveal drops of food coloring in the container. Have children notice where the color stops. We used a couple drops of pink in one and several blue drops in the other.
